Rowenta IS9200 Commercial Garment Steamer Review

Dry cleaning bills can really pile up after a while and it’s such a hassle to have to deliver and pick up the clothing afterwards. After a few recommendations, I decided to invest in the Rowenta IS9200 Commercial Garment Steamer, and I’m glad to say, I haven’t looked back since!

I use the word “invest” because this steamer is on the pricey side. It’s not a ridiculous price provided it does it’s job well and it sure beats the monthly dry cleaning bills, but never the less, it’s more expensive than many other steamers. But ultimately, I’m happy to say: this thing just flat out works! It’s incredible. I can get through a weeks worth of ironing in about 20 minutes!

The device feels of great quality and well worth the cost in my opinion. It features a foot activated on/off switch and cord reel which I find really useful and an adjustable telescopic pole that slides down for compact storage. The unit takes regular tap water and heats up in less than 60 seconds, so very quick, but my favorite thing is how long it can continuously produce steam. Due to it’s large water tank holding 1 gallon of water, it can pump out continuous hot steam for about 2.5 hours! That’s obviously plenty of time and prevents you having to refill the tank during use.

The underlying thing about the IS9200 is that it just works, and it does so quickly. It just saves so much time whilst still producing amazing results. I very rarely use my iron now, I haven’t quite ditched it like I was hoping to but it’s very rarely needed. I’m just really impressed with the whole thing and wish I’d bought one sooner.

As for downsides about the IS9200, I can’t really think of any. Price is certainly on the higher end but you definitely get what you pay for, and if you factor in the amount you’ll be saving each month by cutting down on visits to the dry cleaner, then you can see how this really is an investment.

The IS9200 is also on the larger side which could be seen as a disadvantage for storage, but my favorite thing about this is the length of time it can keep going, and that’s largely due to it’s 1 gallon water tank. So there really aren’t any “bad” things about the IS9200 that I’d want changing.

Here’s a quick summary of the IS9200:

Pros:

  • Works incredibly well
  • Very fast heat up time
  • Telescopic pole – great for easy storage
  • Large water reservoir
  • Extremely quick to use
  • Comes with various accessories and features
  • Well constructed

Cons:

  • More expensive than many models
  • On the larger side compared to other models

As you can see, I really haven’t got a bad thing to say about the IS9200. I really am impressed. I’ve burned my thumbs a couple of times by getting in the way of the steam, but that’s more through my own fault, and something I soon learned to avoid! Overall, a fantastic product by Rowenta and one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
