Steam Fast SF-435 Compact Fabric Steamers Review

I spent some time shopping around and reading reviews before investing in the Steam Fast SF-435 Compact Fabric Steamer as there are certainly a lot of options when it comes to steamers. The SF-435 is of a very much unique design compared to a lot of other models, it’s shaped and looks more like a kettle as opposed to having a tank of water that sits on the ground with a hose, but after reading a lot of good reviews and seeing the tempting price tag, I couldn’t resist!

And on the whole, this thing is great! I love it. First and foremost, it works, so that’s a good start. The 800-watt steamer heats up in around five minutes so a pretty reasonable time and it’s generally easy and effective to use. It’s a lightweight and compact design making it both easy to hold and store. It comes with various accessories and it’s generally an all-round good package.

One thing I would point out is that you’ll be better of using distilled water in the device as opposed to straight tap water. I found it clogged up a bit after using water straight from the tap, but switched to using distilled water and it worked again with no problems!

As for downsides, there are a couple of things to bear in mind. The SF-435 is obviously quite small so it’s better for smaller loads of clothes or other tasks. It produces continuous steam for about 10 – 12 minutes so not as long as the models with larger water tanks. As I say, it’s perfect for smaller loads which is what I tend to use it for – and what it’s designed for – so 10 minutes is usually just right, but if you have 1 weeks worth of ironing for a family of five then the SF-435 would likely get annoying due to the constant need to refill it and wait for it to heat up again. It also has a short power cable which I found to be a bit of an annoyance, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Overall, the Steamfast SF-435 is a fantastic little steamer and one I’d be happy to buy all over again. It has it’s limitations much like any product so it’s something to think about, but for the right person and tasks, this is perfect. Add to that the unbelievable price and you can’t complain! Unlike larger steamers that take up considerable space, the SF-435 is the most compact design I’ve come across, meaning it takes up minimal room.
